From Interns to Executives -
Capturing Professional Level Headshots
Recently, I photographed headshots for a New York City finance group, focusing on three very different but equally important objectives.
First, I captured professional portraits of the senior executive team with a real NYC skyline as the background. Second, I captured headshots that would be photoshopped on to a standardized background image. For this, I used a clean glass wall in the office as a background, which would make removing the subjects from the background easier. These photos will more easily match headshots / portraits from prior sessions, and they will create uniformity. Third, I turned the lens to the firm’s summer interns—many of whom were getting their very first real professional headshot photos. For these future finance leaders, this wasn’t just about taking a picture—it was about creating a strong first impression. I made sure everyone felt comfortable, confident, and prepared, offering light posing direction and tips to bring out their best expressions.
These headshots will serve them well beyond the internship program—appearing on LinkedIn profiles, email signatures, and even resumes, helping them stand out in a competitive job market.
